Tinfu Dunes Close To Zagora
The Ouarzazate Tinfou dunes excursion kicks off early at 8 AM. Located near Zagora, the Tinfou dunes are about a 3-hour drive from Ouarzazate, with several scenic stops along the way. The journey takes you across the Anti-Atlas mountains to the breathtaking Draa Valley, famous for its palm groves and fortified villages that showcase the charm of southern Morocco. The village of Agdz, marking the valley's entry point, offers a welcoming glimpse into Morocco's Great South.
On the drive from Ouarzazate to Zagora, you'll enjoy stops with incredible panoramic views of the Draa Valley. Part of the adventure involves navigating palm groves in a 4x4, providing an intimate look at small Berber villages. This tour offers a wonderful chance to experience the beauty of southern Morocco and see the Sahara Desert's first dunes near Zagora.
After a pause in Zagora, you'll continue to the Tinfou dunes, where a delicious lunch awaits in a nomadic camp. Following lunch, you'll enjoy a 30-minute camel ride around the large dune, immersing yourself in the Sahara's unique atmosphere. The return trip to Ouarzazate retraces the route through the Draa Valley and the Anti-Atlas mountains, concluding in the late afternoon with a drop-off at your hotel.
