Day : Pick up from Tangier to Chefchaouen
Our guide will meet us at the scheduled time at Tanger Airport, and we will head to Chefchaouen, also known as Chaouen. Located in the intercontinental natural park, a designated biosphere reserve, this charming mountain town is painted in white and blue. It is home to kind, respectful, and wise locals, offering visitors stunning urban landscapes, exquisite local crafts, and a sense of peace and serenity that is rare today. Dinner and accommodation will be provided in a Riad.
Day 2 : Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Moulay Idriss - Fez
On the second day of our 7-day desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech, we will leave the charming town of Chefchaouen and head to Fez, one of the imperial cities renowned for hosting one of the oldest universities in the world. Along the way, we’ll explore the well-preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis.
We’ll also enjoy a panoramic view of Moulay Idriss, the holy city where we’ll stop for lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll arrive in Fez to experience the sunset while visiting the walls and gates of its medina or simply relax with a welcome tea on the Riad’s terrace. Dinner and accommodation will be at the Riad.
Day 3 : Visit of Fez - Ifrane - Middle Atlas - Cedar Forest - Midelt
Day 4 : Midelt - Merzouga Dunes - Camel excursion and night in khaima (camp)
Day 5 : Merzouga Desert - Rissani Souk - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley.
After a hearty breakfast, we will bid farewell to the desert and head to Rissani, where we will visit the Souk (if it coincides with one of the market days: Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Sundays). This market has been active since the French colonization of Morocco. Many people travel from nearby villages, including the desert and other areas, to purchase items like vegetables, fruits, clothes, and shoes.
Two hours later, we will arrive at one of the highlights of the High Atlas: the Todra Gorges. The Todra River has carved out a gorge with towering vertical walls of stunning beauty, making it a paradise for climbers and a truly unique spot. We will have lunch on-site, and a half-hour walk is recommended to fully appreciate the Gorges. In the afternoon, we will continue to the Dades Valley, also known as the Fig Valley due to the abundance of fig trees. Dinner and overnight stay will be in the Dades Valley.
Day 6 : Dades Valley - Valley of Roses - Ouarzazate - High Atlas - Marrakech
After breakfast, we can enjoy one of the best views of the Dades Valley from a strategic spot in the mountains. From there, we will explore the many Kasbahs, whose name originates from the local Amazigh language, Tamazight. After several stops to admire the Valley of Roses and the vast palm groves of Skoura, we will arrive at Ouarzazate (the "City Without Noise"). Here, we will visit the famous cinema studio, a popular filming location for international superstars, known for its great weather and peaceful atmosphere.
Additionally, we will visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987, where several iconic films have been shot, including "Gladiator" (2000), "Lawrence of Arabia" (1962), and "Sahara" (2005). We will have lunch in the village and, in the afternoon, continue our journey to Marrakech, crossing the Tizi n'Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains, with stops for photos and breathtaking views. We will reach Marrakech around 6 PM, followed by dinner and accommodation in a riad, marking the second-to-last day of our seven-day desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech.
Day 7 : Marrakech - Airport.
Enjoy breakfast and a free morning until the scheduled time. We will then transfer you to the airport, assist with checking your bags, and guide you to the boarding gate. This marks the conclusion of our 7-day desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech.
