Day 1 : Fes to Merzouga - Via Middle Atlas.
Begin your 2-day desert tour from Fes to Merzouga with a morning pickup at your hotel after breakfast. The first stop is Ifrane, often called the Swiss of Morocco, where you can enjoy its charm and capture memorable photos. Next, head to Azrou to see monkeys in the cedar forest.
Continue to Midelt, known as the capital of apples, for a tasty local lunch. In the afternoon, cross the Tizi N’Talghoumt pass to reach Errachidia, taking in the stunning views of the Ziz Valley along the way. Stop at a panoramic viewpoint to admire the valley’s beauty.
The journey proceeds to the Erg Chebbi dunes via Aoufous and Erfoud, the latter famous for fossils and dates. You may want to visit a local fossil craft workshop before heading to the mesmerizing orange dunes. Upon arrival, camels will take you on an hour-and-a-half ride through the dunes to watch the sunset. Afterward, ride to the desert camp to spend the night in a traditional nomadic tent.
