Day 1 : Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Dades Valley - Boumalne Dades - Tinghir City.
As part of our 3-day desert tour from Ouarzazate to Fes, our driver-guide will pick you up from your accommodation and take you to Ait Benhaddou village. This fortified city, located along the ancient caravan route between Marrakech and the Sahara, was a bustling trading hub in the 17th century. Within its high mud walls, there are six Kasbahs and a few homes. Ait Benhaddou has been featured in several films, including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia.
After exploring the Kasbah, we will return to Ouarzazate to visit Atlas Studios and Kasbah Taourirte. From there, we will continue to Tinghir city, passing through the palm groves of Skoura, Rose Valley, and Dades Valley. Our first day will end in Tinghir city, where we will have dinner and spend the night in a hotel or riad.
Day 2 : Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Rissani - Erg Chebbi Dunes.
After enjoying a traditional Moroccan breakfast, we will embark on another day of our 3-day Ouarzazate to Fes desert tour, traveling from Tinghir to Merzouga. In Tinghir, we’ll explore the stunning Todra Gorge with its towering orange cliffs, nearly 1,000 feet high, a favorite spot for climbers. We’ll also take in the lush green views of Todra Valley, filled with palm and almond trees.
In the afternoon, we’ll continue our journey to the Sahara desert, passing through charming Berber villages like Tinjdad, Melaab, Erfoud, and Rissani, with a stop for lunch along the way. Upon reaching the mesmerizing sand dunes of Erg-Chebbi, you’ll begin a Camel Trekking Adventure across the unique orange-hued dunes to the desert camp. Cherish special moments in this breathtaking setting, enjoying the spectacular sunset from the heart of the dunes. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp, complete with music and the chance to play on the sand dunes under a sky full of stars.
Day 3 : Merzouga - Valley of Ziz - Middle Atlas - Midelt - Forest of Cedar - Ifrane - Fez
On the final day of the 3-day tour from Ouarzazate to Fes, you’ll start early to catch a stunning sunrise in the Sahara Desert. After breakfast and a shower, you’ll ride a camel back to Merzouga town to prepare for the journey ahead. The route begins with a drive through Errachidia, passing by Erfoud, Aoufous town, and the Valley of Ziz, where there will be a stop to take in the panoramic view. The journey continues to Midelt via the Tizi N’talghoumte pass (1907m) for a lunch break.
From there, the trip proceeds to Fes, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains and the Cedar Forest near Azrou, where you might spot some barbary monkeys. There will also be a brief stop in Ifrane, often called “the Switzerland of Morocco.” By evening, you’ll arrive in Fes, where you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation, marking the end of the 3-day tour from Ouarzazate to Fes.
