Day 2 : Merzouga - Rissani - Tinghir - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley - Skoura - Ouarzazate
Day 3: Merzouga desert - Rissani - tinghir - Boumaln dades.
After spending the night at the camp and enjoying the experiences we’ve had, we’ll begin the third day of our 4-day Fes to Marrakech desert tour, heading to Boumalne Dades. In the morning, after watching the sunrise and having breakfast, we’ll leave the desert behind and travel to Rissani city. There, we’ll visit the bustling souk where Berbers and Arabs engage in trade and craftsmanship. It’s an incredible experience to witness, and we’ll also discover Rissani’s famous specialties, like the Arabic pizza called Madfouna and delicious dates. We’ll have lunch at a restaurant offering the finest food.
After a short rest, we’ll continue our journey through the mountains, passing through the stunning Ziz Valley on our way to Tinghir city. Tinghir is home to the breathtaking Todra Gorge and magnificent palm groves that attract many visitors. Not far from Tinghir, we’ll reach Boumalne Dades, where we’ll spend the night in a riad. This city is renowned for its traditional architecture, rich culture, and friendly locals. The beautiful Dades Valley, where the riad is located, is surrounded by lush forests and picturesque scenery.
Day 4: Boumaln dades - Ouarzazate - Ait ben hadou kasbah - Marrakech.
After three amazing days together, we come to the fourth and final day of our 4-day tour from Fes to Marrakech. This day is filled with adventure, exploring villages that make you wonder how people live in the mountains, sustain themselves, and ensure their safety.
In the morning, right after breakfast, we’ll leave the hotel and pass through small villages like Magona Castle, famous for its rose production. This region is known as the "City of Roses." Next, we’ll arrive in Ouarzazate, a city renowned for being a filming location for many movies. It is famous for its studios and the international actors who have worked there, making Ouarzazate a cinematic hub. After leaving Ouarzazate, we’ll visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, where we’ll also have lunch. This kasbah, a collection of traditional buildings, once housed 50 families, but most have left due to damage caused by rain and the kasbah's age. Interestingly, several movies have been filmed here.
After exploring Ait Ben Haddou, we’ll travel through the Atlas Mountains, enjoying the stunning landscapes and mountain villages. The road features zigzags as it winds up the mountains. By afternoon, we’ll arrive in Marrakech and head straight to our accommodation, either a riad or hotel. And that marks the end of our 4-day journey from Fes to Marrakech.
