DAY 1 - Arrival to Marrakech.
To start the 10-day tour of Morocco, clients are picked up from the airport in Marrakech. Afterward, they will enjoy a brief city tour before being dropped off at their accommodation. This arrangement can be easily coordinated with representatives from the company and airline. Overnight stay will be at the Riad.
DAY 2 - Marrakech – Essaouira.
In the late evening, we make our way to Essaouira, a charming city in western Morocco. Along the way, you might spot goats skillfully climbing Argan trees to reach their kernels. Once in Essaouira, also known as Mogador, you'll discover one of Morocco's most famous coastal destinations. Highlights include the bustling fishing port, the impressive walls with large cannons, and the historic old medina. We’ll spend the night in Essaouira.
DAY 3 - Essaouira – Guided tour sightseeing Marrakech
In the morning, we return to Marrakech for the "Discover the Highlights of Marrakech with a Local Guide" activity. Marrakech is one of Morocco's four major Imperial Cities, along with Fes, Rabat, and Taroudannt. The visit includes stops at the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Ben Youssef Quran or Karam Appeal Mosque, and a few other sites.
You’ll also stroll through the largest traditional Moroccan bazaar. Lunch is planned around midday, depending on local time, near the Sacred Square or Jemaa El-Fna square. Afterward, visit Marrakech’s largest mosque, the Koutoubia Mosque, and the Majorelle Garden. Finally, head to the lodge of your choice or any other destination you prefer. It's recommended to take some time to explore Jemaa El-Fna square on your own.
DAY 4 - Marrakech to High Atlas mountains – Telouat Kasbah – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, the Marrakech guide will pick you up from your hotel for an early morning transfer. The journey begins with a drive to the High Atlas Mountains and the adventurous Tizi-N-Tichka Pass, with stops along the way for stunning photographic opportunities. The first destination is the Kasbah of Telouat, followed by a visit to the world-renowned Ait Benhaddou Kasbah.
This village, with its fortified walls, is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Kasbah has also been featured in numerous films, including Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and more. It even appeared in the famous TV series Game of Thrones. The journey continues to Ouarzazate, known as the "Gate of the Desert," where dinner and hotel accommodations await.
DAY 5 - Ouarzazate to Skoura (Kasbah Amridil) – Rose valley – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud -Merzouga Sahara
After breakfast, we visit the Atlas Studios, where parts of famous movies were filmed, and then explore the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate. Next, we head southeast to the beautifully enclosed Amridil Kasbah, nestled among palm trees in Skoura. From there, we proceed to the Rose Valley, known for its May Rose Festival, where locals showcase their rose products. A few kilometers further, we reach the Valley of Dades and stop to admire the stunning Dades Canyons. Our journey then takes us to the Todra Gorges, a majestic gorge carved through the mountains by the Todra River.
Afterward, we enjoy some free time for lunch. Welcome to Roaring Brook and the gorges—what a breathtaking view! In the afternoon, we continue traveling until we arrive in the Sahara area of Merzouga. Here, we swap carriages for camels and cross the vast sandy terrain. We pause to watch the artistic sunset from the dunes, followed by heading to a desert village camp. At the camp, we enjoy Berber drum music and dancing around a fire under the starlit sky. Lunch is served at the camp, followed by dinner, and we spend the night there, embraced by the magic of the desert.
DAY 6 - Explore Merzouga region to Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga lake – Erg Chebbi – palm grove
Waking up early in the morning is highly recommended to witness the sunrise over the desert sands. After some free time for breakfast, we ride camels back to Merzouga, where the driver will be waiting for our arrival. The day is spent exploring the Merzouga area, which offers a wide variety of sights, including breathtaking sand dunes, a wild lake, mines, enchanting oases, and fossil-rich areas all perfect for outdoor activities. Our route begins with a private car ride to the ancient eyeliner mine.
Next on the schedule is visiting the nomads, where we can experience a glimpse of their lifestyle in their handmade woven tents while enjoying Berber tea. We then head to Khamlia village to enjoy Gnaoua music and dance performances by its residents, who hail from sub-Saharan countries like Mali, Sudan, and Niger. After some free time for lunch at a local restaurant, we take a walk through a palm grove before traveling a few kilometers further to see the wild lake of Merzouga, also known as the pink lake of flamingos. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at a hotel.
DAY 7 - Merzouga Dunes to Erfoud – Midelt – cedars forest – Ifrane – Fes
In the morning, we leave the desert to explore Rissani, the former capital of Tafilalt. Rissani remains an essential trading hub in the region, boasting a large and lively souk. Next, we head to Erfoud and visit a workshop that produces fossilized marble. After a quick photo session along the Ziz River, we enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the valley. In Midelt, lunch is flexible and can be taken at your own pace, without needing to dine with the group.
We then journey through the cedar forest, known for its population of Barbary macaques. Feel free to feed them while exploring the woods. Afterward, we continue to Ifrane, famous for its snowfall and Alpine-style houses, often called the "Switzerland of Morocco." Finally, we transfer you to your hotel in Fes.
DAY 8 - Guided Tour Sightseeing Fes
After breakfast, our professional guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Fes for a city tour. Fes, known as the imperial city, is considered the cultural and religious heart of Morocco. The first stop of the day will be the gate of the Royal Palace, followed by the well-preserved medieval medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Bab Boujloud, or the Blue Gate, serves as the entry point to the ancient Medina. Visitors will explore the Medina with the guide, who speaks Arabic.
The tour includes visits to Bouanania Madrasa, the Fountain of Najjarine, the Tanneries, and finally the Quaraouin Mosque and University, which is claimed to be the oldest university in the world. Afterward, the tour continues outside the Medina to the Jewish quarter, known as the Mellah. The day concludes with a trip to a fort offering a bird's-eye view of the Medina and the city of Fes, before retiring to your riad or accommodation for the night.
DAY 9 - Fes – Meknes – Volubilis ruins – Chefchaouen
In the morning, we head to Meknes, the Ismaili capital and one of the cities of the Derb. Our visit includes Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal Stables, the granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After some free time for lunch, we drive for about half an hour to explore the ruined city of Volubilis near Meknes. This site, relatively well-preserved, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its stunning mosaics, scattered pillars, and arched doorways.
After wandering through the ruins, we continue north, passing through Ouazzane on our way to Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains, famously called the Blue City. The city is instantly recognizable for its blue-painted buildings and narrow lanes. We stay overnight in a hotel with bed and breakfast.
DAY 10 - Transfer to Tangier airport
After breakfast, depending on the flight time, which should be planned in advance, they can take a break from work and enjoy a walk along the beautiful streets of the blue city. Following this, we proceed through the Rif Mountains to reach Tangier airport, marking the end of the 10-day Marrakech anniversary tour.
