Begin your journey at the iconic Bab Boujeloud gate in Fes el Bali (built in 789 ACE) and make your way to Talâa Kebira’s main avenue. Stroll past shops and bustling souks, hunting for unique gifts and mementos, while admiring the architecture influenced by Spain and Tunisia. Witness traditional craftsmanship at the Chouara Tannery, operating since the eleventh century, and marvel at the intricate zellij tile work of the 14th-century Al Attarine Madrasa before heading to Fes el Jdid, the “new city” established in the 13th century.
Take in panoramic views of the city from the cemetery, visit the Mellah and the historic Jewish district, and, if time allows, explore Ville Nouvelle to see its remarkable architectural evolution. Finish the day with some free time to wander Fes at your own pace before returning to your accommodation.

After enjoying a hearty lunch, head to Volubilis, a renowned Roman site in Morocco dating back to AD 245-285.
Next, visit the city of Moulay Idriss, perched on the towering Khyber and Tazga hills. With its cascading buildings down the slopes, it’s a key pilgrimage site and hosts a major religious festival every August. Wrap up your day with a scenic drive through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, the “blue city,” where you’ll spend the night after an incredible day.
