Day 1 : Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Merzouga
Your 2-day trip from Marrakech to Merzouga begins with an early pickup from your hotel or riad. We'll drive through the stunning High Atlas Mountains, stopping at scenic spots along the way for you to stretch, take photos, and enjoy the views. After a leisurely lunch, continue your drive into the Sahara Desert, arriving in Merzouga in the afternoon, where a camel ride awaits! Ride through the soft, golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, stopping on a high dune to watch a beautiful desert sunset. You'll then arrive at your desert camp, where you'll be accommodated in comfortable private tents. After a short rest, enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner, followed by an evening spent under the stars around a campfire, immersed in the sounds of traditional Berber music and drumming. Driving time and distance: Approximately 9 hours / 650 km.
Day 2 : Merzouga - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - Marrakech
Rise early today to enjoy a beautiful sunrise over the desert. After breakfast, depart camp in a 4x4 vehicle and return to Merzouga village. From there, begin the journey back to Marrakech. There will be several stops along the way for lunch and other rest stops. One of the highlights of this trip will be the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a traditional mud-brick village that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since the 80's. This beautiful site has been the filming location for many popular movies and TV series, including "Kingdom of Heaven" and "Game of Thrones." Arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon and be dropped off at your riad or hotel. This concludes your 2-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga.
