Instead, you could opt for a 3-day tour focusing on either Zagora or Merzouga, or plan a longer 4-5 day trip to cover both. Day 1 : Ouarzazate - Agdez - Zagora
Start your 3-day tour from Ouarzazate to the Merzouga desert with a hotel or riad pickup. Explore the "Hollywood of Morocco," visiting Taourirt, the Kasbah, and the Atlas Film Studios. Travel along the Anti-Atlas road to Zagora, passing through the famous village of Agdez. Marvel at the vibrant colors of the Deraa oasis and enjoy a Berber restaurant lunch before heading to Zagora. Known as “The Desert Gate,” this high-altitude town lies on a plateau south of the mountains. Arrive at the bivouac in the late afternoon, take a camel ride to watch the stunning desert sunset, and join in a fireside dinner with nomadic songs and drum rhythms. End your day with a magical night in a traditional tent to complete the desert experience.
Day 2 : Zagora to Merzouga Sahara desert
On the second day of our 3-day desert tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga, we’ll head from Zagora to the stunning Merzouga desert dunes of Erg Chebbi. Explore the breathtaking desert landscapes and charming villages along the way. We’ll stop for lunch at Alnif village, then continue through the Draa Valley, Taghbalt, and Rissani before reaching the Merzouga desert. A camel trekking adventure awaits, taking you to the towering Erg Chebbi dunes as you enjoy the sunset. Spend the night at Erg Chebbi Camp, where the Berbers will welcome you with music and a delicious dinner.
Day 3: Merzouga - Todra Gorges - Ouarzazate.
Start your day early to witness a breathtaking sunrise, with the dunes' colors and shadows creating a stunning view. Then, head to Ouarzazate via Erfoud, known for its fossilized marbles, and visit a marble fossil workshop. Explore the Todra Gorges, perfect for a walk or some personal exploration. After lunch, drive through Kelaa Mgouna, the town of roses, and continue along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing the Skoura palm grove.
